I'll be a hundred and ten in the not too distant future, the old ship's got a few blotches, but she's still on course!

...citizen scientist...

We (the blogger/author/whatever and Los Banditos / The Rascals) can now do what we've already loved doing when we were a child: exploring Astronomy, Meteorology, Radio (aspects of technology), printing, cameraman, photography. We became interested in these topics, in that order, by and by. We've never lost interest ever since.
We couldn't spend much time on studying these subjects, though, because we had to make a living, with a job we were lucky to like, working in milking parlours of dairy farms, from which we've retired only recently.
Retirement in financial health is one more perk of the job, at least we see it this way. So now we have all the time in the world to be what we always have been: a citizen scientist.

When I reach out my arm, I find a book on Astronomy lying on the table...

...admiration...

Isn´t it fantastic for humans to have (developed) the various ways of worshipping the wonders and mysteries of creation. (Deliberately chosen: the first word "the", the word "power/s", the brackets.)

...at a time...

People have always tried to find an explanation for the world the way it is, ever since sections of advanced intelligence started to develop in the heads of our ancestors. It became necessary to invent Gods, a God, and various religions, depending on where they lived on the planet. Amazing how all ancient peoples have developed different believes for the same universal yearning to find an explanation for how the world ticks. The development of the sciences has reduced the need for "higher authorities" a bit. Or has it really? The different believes are not meant to act against each other. That´s just a wrong interpretation of their existence. Far less so do such interpretations grant a right to criminal actions against each other. That´s a mere question of law and order, of behaving sensibly in a community. (Thanks, R, for giving the idea for this post).

...satire...

satire was made to let sensible people endure the harsh reality
