This is my main blog, written in the form of a diary. Enjoy reading my sometimes whimsical way of explaining things. IMPORTANT NOTE: I´m not responsible for the content of any websites I´m linking to!!!

The daily routines

You will all know this:

you get stuck in your daily routines and chores. And time flies!

It's important to break these routines, but how? Only to a certain degree. Try doing some totally different: new hobby, new job, new perspective of life, traveling.

Recipe

I'm not talking about the well-being of the planet earth, earth will survive in any case. The question is rather if we as a species are sustainable. It becomes surer more and more what we need to survive in the not so long run:
1. Rather fewer politicians, but more leaders with geo-engineering skills.
2. Geo-engineers.

And all this quick, because time is running out.
We have all the technologies we need to alter the specification of a (our) planet!

Carbon Dioxide Sources

1. Mineral water with gas
2. More than 6 billion people breathing and farting
3. Animals breathing and farting
4. The burning of fossil fuel (coal, gas, oil) for heating and transport.
5. Removal of forests with photo synthesis capability

In a natural cycle the co2 would be absorbed by trees, in theory forming new fuel (wood, coal, oil). However, forests become less, and the co2 which we're using stems not from a cycle but is taken from reservoirs. This is a straight-forward process, not a cycle. I don't think that this can be sustained for a long period of time, it'll rather lead to the collaps of the system "earth".

Cosmic eyeblink.

Just read in Scientific American:

"[...] 2.6 million years. That is a cosmic eyeblink."

Doesn't this statement give you so much to think about? Read it very slowly...

We're so small.

Is our existence (comprising several life cycles, possibly) always confined to this solar system or are the existences within the cosmos interchangeable?
We must be like the leaves on a tree: each leaf is a singular unit, but the "species leaf" is recycled during billions of years. Now, does the unit "leaf" have the most importance or the species "leaf"?

Man Woman relationship / Courtesy of...

Depending on your education, you might enjoy the following video which I found.

I found this video clip on the net (flickr) and am publishing it courtesy of:
http://www.flickr.com/photos/gayart/
It is so natural. I love the MUSIC! So perfectly made!

Do I really have to say "This is adult stuff, please tick box when you´re over 18, don´t use outside USA" blah blah blah? Man this is US, this is NATURAL!! And the artist has my admiration.

I hit the link when I was researching about an island in the Indian Ocean (Male).

About Joking

...especially joking here, in a blog, or in a comment.

Joking should be handled very carefully, even more in the blogosphere and the photo-presenting areas of the net. You never know how the other part feels about your joke, cos they can´t see your grin, your wink, they just read your sometimes, well, yes: rude writing.

I myself seem to have lost a valued contact on flickr only recently because of, I suggest, one of my more "real-life" commenting and joking. It´s been a pity and a shame. I regret having lost her. I´m not sure, it could also have been a misconnection or disconnection rather, on flickr´s side, though I feel the former could be true more...

I´ve become very very considerate and careful about my online jokes during the 10 years that I´ve been with this. It all started with the AOL chatrooms which were a big enhancement to my life, and now continues with blogger, twitter, flickr. But in "Safe Mode".

I count my online friendships as being too precious as to risk any blockings and such .

Avatar

Hello, I´ve decided to change my avatar, or thumbnail picture which accompanies my blog and all my comments. I stuck to the old avatar for quite a long time. I don´t like to change identity all the time.
So now I have the same avatar with flickr, twitter, blogger, and maybe facebook and youtube.
I´m now following a policy of opening up more, showing more of my identity, because as an "anonymous", you´re a mere nothing, with a green card of babbling mostly nonsense, nobody knows ya anyway, which is totally opposite to my other valuable policy, to be a FRA Free Responsible Adult and World Citizen with (I hope) clear and sensible and useful thoughts.

Mhh. how do ya like my pic? It shows me at the age of 6 or 7, my father wanted to take my picture with his twin-eyed Rolleicord, a very good 6x6 camera. Only I didn´t want to be photographed: I was in a tantrum!

Fellow Bloggers

A big Thank You to all my fellow bloggers which I'm constantly following. Sharing the thoughts over our specific lives has become very important to me since I started this blogging adventure. Thank you, my friends, for your company.

Time

So what time can be trusted? My mobile's? My PDA's? Clocks which I see in the streets also can't be trusted, they usually show differing times. Maybe they got broken because all the clock adjustments because of the light savings. One of my mobile's even offers an automatic time adjustment, which would confuse me even more: did it accept the different time zone? The light saving? I can never be sure. I tend to set all my hands to GMT or UTC ( oh my god, even the standards vary, haha). This would also giving my brain giving a good exercise, especially in the morning when the alarm clock shrills: "Oops: summer time? Winter time? GMT? UTC? Fuck it, back to the pillows!!

Jack in the Box

I solved my transport problem: I bought so many useful books at London's bookshops that I my small hand luggage bag won't be suitable to take this collection home. So I bought a bigger suitcase, hard case, medium size, in pink for better recognizing on baggage reclaim belt at the airport. The small bag fits into the suitcase perfectly, so I still have only one piece of luggage to carry. For the scientifically biased among you, here's the math formula for solving the transporting problem: 1 plus 1 is 1. Haha!

Book-shopping spree

Buying a lot of books these days on languages, computing and photography. My favourite bookshops are in London. They have everything! And I think I need to buy a bigger suitcase to transport them all to D. It's true: traveling and reading (and surfing the net), all this makes you a wiser person.

Global Cooling.

The cooling effects of global warming: the hotter air (hotter due to increased CO2) rises quicker and more vastly in regions of lower latitudes, thus sucking more cold air from the poles across eg Europe. Thus Europe experiences a cooling effect. Yet the main tendency is warming.

FRA

FRA

FRA - means Free Responsible Adult. In my eyes, it's a recipe for acting as a "well-behaved" inhabitant of this planet. Sadly, there are still some elements even nowadays that work against developing this useful if not elementary trait to become a respectful and also respected person. A generic trait in almost all of us is "to put the blame on others", not to take one's own initiative to, for instance, pick up some litter in the street or so.

Also I believe that some institutions like government and church leave it to "higher" elements to take care of things, thus freeing us from performing more own responsible and positively influencing behaviour.

I think our well being in the future can only be guaranteed if we follow the FRA principle.

Phrase of The Day.

I read on twitter this morning:

a woman tweeting (ie writing text message to twitter is called "tweeting", like a bird, hehe):

"I want to breed with you." (Not addressing the author).

What a wonderful idea, what a wonderful world.

Could someone whisper (ie speaking into someone´s ear in a low or even without any voice at all, not using any electronic audio devices) this in my right ear please?

Usig my left ear would also be ok. Even a wink of your eye would be accepted.

(:-))

Why do we blog?

Speaking of myself, the main reason for me to start blogging a few years ago was to share my thoughts about our existence which have been refined during the course of my life.
When I´ll be in the sky or heaven in some 20 or so years from now (or tomorrow) at least a few words will have been left over for other people to read. Why else should I have learned about my insights, only to please myself? No, other and younger people should also read them and share my experiences and apply them to their own lives.

Also blogging is one of the best methods to get to know new friends.

And also an ideal instrument to learn about the personal feelings and toughts of my fellow beings.

And also to practise English, español, francais etc.

And also....

I can´t see the end of my list. I could not do without blogger, twitter, flickr etc.
