I'll be a hundred and ten in the not too distant future, the old ship's got a few blotches, but she's still on course!

... to be ...

As a kid, we believe that we're living in a transitional period of life, preparing for a proposedly never-ending life as an adult. Matureness is our aim, our destination. So we might forget and ignore how precious our youth is, that it's a milestone, not a steppingstone to reach more important and static goals in the future.
Yet our future is not staid: we are mature, but we get older all the time, we keep learning until the end of our life. So life is a path with equally important waypoints, not increasing values the older we get.
The environment of a child's mind is just as precious as the mind of an adult
