Saying nothing means you're free like a bird.
Saying something, ie expressing one's opinion etc will put you into a category.
The category would differ depending on how people would interpret your utterance.

So, there's lots of room for misunderstandings. All the more so when we take into consideration the effect of double or more meanings that sentences in a language have.
